Emotional Detachment

I want to talk about an article that I have read about the emotional detachment. For your information, the emotional detachment is having two different meanings. The first meaning refers to an inability to connect with others on an emotional level. It is often described as "emotional numbing" or dissociation. It often arises from psychological trauma and is a component in many anxiety and stress disorders. The person, while physically present, moves elsewhere in the mind, making them sometimes be seen as preoccupied or distracted. In other cases, the person may seem fully present but operate merely intellectually when emotional connection would be appropriate. This may present an extreme difficulty in giving or receiving empathy. Emotional detachment is also a type of mental assertiveness that allows people to maintain their boundaries and psychic integrity when faced with the emotional demands of another person or group of persons. It is a positive and deliberate mental attitude which avoids engaging the emotions of others. It is often applied to relatives and associates of people who are in some way emotionally overly demanding. This detachment does not mean avoiding the feeling of empathy; it is actually more of an awareness of empathetic feelings that allows the person space needed to rationally choose whether or not to be overwhelmed or manipulated by such feelings.

The World's Going to End

I've read another article on how the world's going to end..it was predicted to happen on 21/12/2012..there are some interesting facts that lead to this prediction.
firstly,Mayans have did this prediction.Maya people were masters of mathematics and calendars and they were keeping track of time using three separate calendars. For predictions about the beginning and end of the “world” they used “Long Count” calender. And on December 21st 2012, the Long Count will be at the point zero which Maya predicts as the end of time and beginning of the new world. The Mayas were very accurate in their predictions and they predicted invasions on their soil and the World Wars.
secondly, solar experts from around the world monitoring the sun have made a startling discovery: our sun is in a bit of strife. The energy output of the sun is, like most things in nature, cyclic, and it's supposed to be in the middle of a period of relative stability. However, recent solar storms have been bombarding the Earth with so much radiation energy, it's been knocking out power grids and destroying satellites. This activity is predicted to get worse, and calculations suggest it'll reach its deadly peak sometime in 2012.
and finally,Yellowstone National Park in the United States is famous for its thermal springs and Old Faithful geyser. The reason for this is simple - it's sitting on top of the world's biggest volcano, and geological experts are beginning to get nervous sweats. The Yellowstone volcano has a pattern of erupting every 650,000 years or so, and we're many years overdue for an explosion that will fill the atmosphere with ash, blocking the sun and plunging the Earth into a frozen winter that could last up to 15,000 years. The pressure under the Yellowstone is building steadily, and geologists have set 2012 as a likely date for the big bang..

I would like to share with you a national geographic video clip and an article that I had watched and read recently. Both of the video clip and the article are regarding Dubai. As we know, Dubai had been successfully create a man-made palm-shaped island and is now building the world tallest tower. Besides that, Dubai is going to create a world! A man-made world! What a great idea to boost the luxurious based tourism of Dubai?

The idea of creating the World is came from the ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Dubai links 300 islands nearby her coast and creates a world map that visible from space. For your information, Dubai is built on its profit of the oil reserve. However, the oil is estimated to be run dry by the year of 2016. Thus, Dubai must change from an emirate reliance on oil to a land filled by tourists. I really enjoyed watching the video clip as I am so impressed with the ruler of Dubai who managed to transform Dubai into a well-known country and a top tourist destination in a decade. Moreover, he has such an impressive visionary, which enables Dubai to survive without her oil reserve. Everyone in the world is waiting for Dubai to come out with the next miracle. Would Malaysia be able to construct this kind of mega structure? In my opinion, Malaysia still has a long way to go to succeed in tourism unless she fully utilize the resources and show the world the extraordinary of hers.

.::LOVE::.

Love is any of a number of emotions and experiences related to a sense of strong affection and attachment. The word love can refer to a variety of different feelings, states, and attitudes, ranging from generic pleasure to intense interpersonal attraction. The word love is both a verb and a noun. Love is not a single feeling but an emotion built from two or more feelings. Anything vital to us creates more than one feeling, and we also have feelings about our feelings (and thoughts about our feelings). This diversity of uses and meanings, combined with the complexity of the feelings involved, makes love unusually difficult to consistently define, even compared to other emotional states.
As an abstract concept, love usually refers to a deep, ineffable feeling of tenderly caring for another person. Even this limited conception of love, however, encompasses a wealth of different feelings, from the passionate desire and intimacy of romantic love to the nonsexual emotional closeness of familial and platonic love to the profound oneness or devotion of religious love. Love in its various forms acts as a major facilitator of interpersonal relationships and, owing to its central psychological importance, is one of the most common themes in the creative arts.

The Power Of A Smile

So many people underestimate the power and importance of a smile, that simple little facial expression characterized by an upward curving of the corners of the mouth.

A smile has many meanings: pleasure, friendliness, welcome, amusement, and many more; and it is part of a universal body language that doesn’t need any extra interpretation.

Plus a smile, with all its simplcity and beauty, can be a very important factor in many aspects of our lives:

- You fall in love with a new country you visit because its people greet you with a welcoming smile everywhere you go; other countries you just don’t like even though they might have more history, nature, entertainment and whatnot because their people don’t seem so friendly or accepting.

- You feel like buying from a certain store when the vendor welcomes you in with a smile, sometimes even if you wouldn’t intially have bought anything; and in other stores, even though they have exactly what you need or better, you decide to walk away because the vendor doesn’t look welcoming at all.

- You want to give a waiter a good tip when he serves you with a smile, even if the food turns out not that good; on the other hand, sometimes you’ll have some of the best food ever, but you won’t feel like giving the waiter a tip, even if you do, because he was grumpy.

More and more examples from our everyday life show how much a simple smile can change everything.

Forever engraved in my mind will be the smiling faces of the people of Thailand, the friendly pizza delivery boy, the welcoming supermarket vendor, the nice cashier at the bank, …etc.

It is these smiles that keep me wanting to go back, and that keep us all wanting to go back; looking at it from another view, if we break it down using business sense, a smile is one of the most effective means to generate sales and develop customer loyalty.

On top of all that, a smile is a very simple and easy thing to do, so it amazes why no one bothers to do it, it not only makes the person in front of you better, but it also makes you feel better as well, and I’m not making this up, it has been psychologically proven.

Personally, I’d like to see more smiling faces in this world; in the airports when I enter a new country, in companies, government agencies, restaurants, hotels, banks, everywhere; and I think it is up to governments to campaign about this, and even make it obligatory in certain important places like airports, hospitals, hotels…etc.

Let’s all simply smile :)

.::STRESS::.

I have finished read an article about stress. I know everyone will be in stress with a lot of work to do this week especially assessment, project and assignment.we also need to struggle for test and quiz.Contrary to what many people think, there is good or positive stress known as 'eustress' and bad or negative stress known as 'distress'.According to Dr Mogan, stress is difficult to define as it is subjective. For me,the reason for this is that there is no definition of stress that everyone agrees on, what is stressful for one person may be pleasurable or have little effect on others.i think people have to find the right amount of stress that permits them to live a productive and happy life.from stress,we can learn how to utilize and transform stress so that it will make our be more productive.this article also recommends the 10 simple steps to overcome stress and they are to relax, take deep breath, take it easy, perform religious obligations, speak with somebody, go for massage therapy, rest and listen to music, go for recreational activities, exercise and think positive.so,i hope who have a stress can take this as a way to handle it.

Skyscraper Creates Own Energy

This skyscraper, to be built in Dubai, is called the Burj Al-Taqa ('Energy Tower'), and it will produce 100percent of its own power.

Burj Al-Taqa's cylindrical shape is designed to expose as little surface area to the sun as possible.A protective solar shield reaches from the ground to the roof, covering 60 degrees of the giant circular building. It protects the side most affected from the sun's glaring rays, making sure that none of the rooms are exposed to direct sunlight.

The architects chose an ancient Persian architectural feature as their model. The buildings, which have now become tourist attractions, have a natural air conditioning system.

Seawater will be used to pre-cool the air. Three large cooling units in the giant building's cellar will eventually lower the temperature .

The Burj Al-Taqa seems like the most recent example of a trend that has been observable for some time. In large cities such as Chicago, New York or Paris, environmentally friendly skyscrapers are being built that win ecological awards and apparently herald a new green wave in the construction of tall buildings.

Petroleum is Depleted

Petroleum is depleted!! This kind of phenomena will bring bad impact for our industry!! and how about our car? Is there any solution for this problem?
For me and surely other people will think twice to answer this kind of problem, but there is a solution for this problem.
Bio diesel or also known as “non-petroleum-based diesel” is the solution for all the conflict of petroleum depleting. Biodiesel made by transesterification of vegetable oil or animal fat, which can be used in unmodified diesel-engine vehicles. Even though biodiesel is more expensive to purchase than petroleum diesel but this is not bring so much problem compare with no petroleum at all.
Biodiesel is much safer to use compare to petroleum diesel. It is because it has less monocarbon that produce when burnt. Monocarbon is a dangerous substance which exists in gas state at 0 degree celcius or higher. This gas will cause bad effect to human, animal, and plant due to its toxic. With use of biodiesel this problem will decrease so that we can live more comfortable.
So know, try biodiesel for more benefit than using petroleum diesel!! Till next time!!

Global Economy Crisis

I would like to share with you a article which relates to global economy crisis. The title of article is 'Dr M: Stop banks from making money out of thin air'(Sunday February 22, 2009).

In my opinion, I'm agree that Dr M's solution to resolve the global financial crisis by reducing the lavish lifestyles and per capita income in rich countries and also advise that the governments have to control the banks from continuing to create money out of thin air and lend money to others to perform the manipulation of “money to make money.

This is because this will balancing the wealth between rich countries and the poor countries to prevent the poor countries getting poorer and poorer continuously. For instance, if poor countries are getting poorer then before, they are not able to import products that come from the rich countries. Indirectly, the rich countries also will not get revenue from the poor countries.

Finally, the rich countries will become poorer then before and the world continue to suffer the global economy crisis. That isn't a good result we need!

Sometimes..we must think of others and this can 'one stone hit two birds' as both will get the benefit.

Type of Friendship

Do you know the type of friendship? I will give a details about type of friendship. There are many types:

Best friend or close friend: a person with whom someone shares extremely strong interpersonal ties with a friend.

Acquaintance: similar to a friend, but sharing of emotional ties isn't present. An example would be a coworker with whom you enjoy eating lunch, but would not look to for emotional support.

Romantic friendship: the very close but non-sexual friendship shared between two friends, often involving physical contact such as hugging, holding hands, and even cuddling.

Soulmate: the name given to someone who is considered the ultimate, true, and eternal half of the other's soul, in which the two are now and forever meant to be together.

Pen pal: a person who shares a "postal" relationship with another and regularly writes via "snail mail". They may or may not have met each other in person and may share either love, friendship, or simply an acquaintance between each other.

Internet friendship: a widely debated and form of friendship or romance which takes place over the Internet.
so, what type of friendship you have? think yourselves...

why people laughs??

Good day,
I had just read an article about laughter. Have you all wonder why people laughs?? Here is some of the information that i received.

Laughter is an audible expression, or appearance of merriment or happiness, or an inward feeling of joy and pleasure (laughing on the inside). It may ensue (as a physiological reaction) from jokes, tickling, and other stimuli. Inhaling nitrous oxide can also induce laughter; other drugs, such as cannabis, can also induce episodes of strong laughter. Strong laughter can sometimes bring an onset of tears or even moderate muscular pain.

Laughter is a part of human behavior regulated by the brain. It helps humans clarify their intentions in social interaction and provides an emotional context to conversations. Laughter is used as a signal for being part of a group — it signals acceptance and positive interactions with others. Laughter is sometimes seemingly contagious, and the laughter of one person can itself provoke laughter from others as a positive feedback. This may account in part for the popularity of laugh tracks in situation comedy television shows.

People says that laughter is the best medicine. I do agree on that because when u laugh u can really cheer yourself up. All the worries will suddenly disappear. So, do not be shy to laugh. Just laugh out laud. (^_^)

EAGLES IN A STORM

Did you know that an eagle knows when a storm is approaching long before it breaks????

The eagle will fly to some high spot and wait for the winds to come. When the storm hits, it sets its wings so that the wind will pick it up and lift it above the storm. While the storm rages below, the eagle is soaring above it.

The eagle does not escape the storm. It simply uses the storm to lift it higher. It rises on the winds that bring the storm.

When the storms of life come upon us - and all of us will experience them - we can rise above them by setting our minds and our belief toward God. The storms do not have to overcome us. We can allow God's power to lift us above them.

God enables us to ride the winds of the storm that bring sickness, tragedy, failure and disappointment in our lives. We can soar above the storm.

Remember, it is not the burdens of life that weigh us down, it is how we handle them.
